Thomas Kraus - MS, MA, CSCS, USAW National Coach, RSCC*D, FMS Level 1

I started teaching in West Aurora School District 129 in 1997. I teach Athletic Physical Education...a section of PE where West Aurora athletes train for their athletics during Physical Education. Along with teaching, I am completing my 18th year as the West Aurora High School Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. My strength and conditioning responsibilities require me to work with roughly 100 athletes between 3:00-5:30pm. Through the crucible of these demands, I have developed strong logistical skills as well as training efficiency.

Other credentials that assist my coaching are:

  • Master of Science in Athletic Administration - Eastern Illinois University

  • Master of Art in Education Leadership - Aurora University

  • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist - National Strength and Conditioning Association

  • Club and Senior Level National Coach - USA Weightlifting

  • 2014 National Runner Up - USA Weightlifting Masters Nationals (94kg, 40-45 age group)

  • Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association

  • Function Movement Systems FMS Level 1 Certified.

Through my work in the field of education, my experience as a competitive athlete, my exposure to some of the best coaches in the country, my national coaching experience, and my love for current research, I am confident I will get the best out of the athletes I train.

Roger Einbecker

Roger's strength background originated as part of his training for shot put and discus throwing.  As a competitor, Roger broke his high school's records in the shot put and discus and his college's records in discus and hammer.  He began coaching throwers at Waubonsie Valley HS in 2005, where he still coaches.  There, he has had 6 conference champions, 22 state qualifiers and 9 All State throwers, including a state champion in the discus.  Roger holds a Level I coaching certification from USA Weightlifting and a Level I coaching certification from USA Track and Field.  Strength training is a significant component of the training for throwers today, including Olympic lifting, which are the most explosive lifts done during training.
